Jillian E. Tate is an Attorney in Kelley Kronenberg’s Justice for Kids Division®, a national practice dedicated to providing legal services to abused, disabled, and catastrophically injured children harmed in foster care, shelters, residential treatment centers, group homes, and other child welfare settings, as well as all children harmed by the acts of others.
Before joining Kelley Kronenberg, Jillian served as an Assistant State Attorney with the Broward County State Attorney’s Office prosecuting misdemeanors to serious felonies. She also served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Second Judicial Circuit in both Leon and Gadsden County.
Jillian received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law with a certificate in Criminal Litigation, where she served as President of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Vice-President of the Criminal Law Society, and was hired as a Research Assistant by the Director of Admissions. She also served as Vice-President of Membership for the Trial Team and was a recipient of the American Board of Trial Advocates Scholarship after winning the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law National Competition in New Orleans, Louisiana. While attending law school, Jillian served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Mark Speiser of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, focusing on probate law. In addition, she gained legal experience as a Certified Legal Intern for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, specifically in the Sexual Battery/Child Abuse Unit and Ten-Twenty-Life Gun Crimes Unit.
Jillian serves as a mentor and Trial Team coach at St. Thomas University School of Law, assisting law students to prepare for trial competitions nationwide.
