Video: Child Welfare Attorney On How Florida DCF Knew About Ahziya Osceola’s Troubled Life
According to a television news report, the Florida Department of Children and Families apparently knew about the abuse, neglect and abandonment endured by young Ahziya Osceola, the Hollywood, Florida, boy who was found dead and in garbage bags in March. Florida foster child attorney and child advocate Howard Talenfeld discusses the death of another child known to Florida child welfare officials.
In the video, a local news reporter discusses how a 27-page report revealed the depth of Florida officials’ apparent knowledge of and interactions with the Osceola family.
“The system has to take a look in the mirror and say, ‘Why are we dealing with another death once again?'” Talenfeld asked following the release of the report.
