Kelley Kronenberg Expands Justice for Kids Division with the Addition of Kayla Riera-Gomez

Kelley Kronenberg is excited to announce that Kayla Riera-Gomez has joined the firm’s Justice for Kids Division as a Partner. Justice for Kids is a national practice dedicated to providing legal services to abused, disabled, and catastrophically injured children harmed in foster care, shelters, residential treatment centers, group homes, and other child welfare settings, as well as all children harmed by the acts of others.

Riera-Gomez worked for nearly a decade in the public sector as a Legislative Assistant to leaders in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate, gaining extensive experience with child welfare and adoption legislation. She later worked for large defense firms representing child welfare agencies, schools and after school programs, churches, and rehabilitation facilities in high stakes personal injury claims. This diverse experience with child welfare and social service issues provides her with the unique ability to assess both sides of cases involving child welfare and adoption issues.

Outside of the courtroom, Riera-Gomez has been involved with several legal industry associations. She is a past president of the Coral Gables Bar Association, a past Board Member of the Miami Dade Bar Association, and a member of the American Bar Association. Riera-Gomez is also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator and a Family Mediator.

A graduate of Florida State University, Riera-Gomez earned her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. She is admitted to practice in Florida as well as the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.
