Howard Talenfeld Recognized By 2-1-1 Broward as Non-Profit Board Leader
Howard M. Talenfeld, a preeminent children’s rights attorney and partner with Justice for Kids, a division of Kelley Kronenberg, was recently honored by 2-1-1 Broward as the Non-Profit Organization Board Leader of the Year. Since 2002, Howard has served as founder and Board President for Florida’s Children First (FCF), Florida’s “go to” agency protecting the rights of foster children and at-risk youth.
Through his leadership over the past two decades, FCF has evolved into a powerhouse that passes crucial legislation, mentors foster youth, changes policy and practice.
As a Partner with Kelley Kronenberg and Justice for Kids, Howard is known throughout the legal community and national media as having established one of the nation’s premier children’s rights practices. His work on behalf of at-risk individuals has earned multimillion-dollar awards and resulted in sweeping judicial and legislative reforms.
Among his industry awards, Howard has also been recognized by The Florida Bar Foundation as the recipient of the 2018 Medal of Honor Award for a Lawyer. He was honored in 2016 with the University of Miami Law Alumni Association’s Alumni Achievement Award and received the Professional Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award from the Daily Business Review. Additionally, he has been recognized for his efforts with The Florida Bar’s President’s Award of Merit and the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the 17th Judicial Circuit. He has also received Legal Aid’s Russell Carlisle Award for child advocacy law.
