When unprotected children face extreme physical abuse, sexual abuse, and severe emotional abuse, they suffer permanent psychological damage and tremendous personal injury. This investigative report written by David Charns from KLAS details how Las Vegas Metro police discovered a horrifying domestic environment, rescuing six neglected children, including two emaciated boys found locked inside a dog cage. The report exposes the horrible conditions created by abusers inside an extended-stay apartment, where the children were starved, forced to eat from the trash, and beaten with belts and skillets until one 11-year-old victim was left on the brink of death with eyes swollen shut. While one abuser claimed she was unable to intervene due to domestic violence and forced sex work, both adults now face severe legal consequences. A Clark County grand jury indicted the abusers for leaving vulnerable youth trapped in extreme, violent isolation.
