Severe gaps in community protective networks continuously expose vulnerable children and displaced foster youth to horrific sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse that causes permanent psychological damage and devastating personal injury. This criminal report details the arrest of 74-year-old Thomas Dodd by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department after allegations of extreme lewdness involving a nine-year-old child. According to sex assault detectives, Dodd presented himself as a trusted family friend after meeting the victim and their family through a local Las Vegas church congregation. On July 9, 2025, Dodd exploited this spiritual position of trust by inviting the young child to his house under the impression of watching movies, where he allegedly subjected the victim to inappropriate physical contact and forced the child to touch his genitals. Following an official police report filed in late July 2025, Dodd was booked into custody on four felony counts of lewdness with a child under fourteen.
